Mustache Wax

I’ve been dabbling in making mustache wax for some time now…I have friends with pretty awesome mustaches, and they haven’t found any good quality mustache wax locally, and especially none that smelled good AND worked well. 

I made a test batch awhile ago, and my friend who was testing it said it was okay, but he couldn’t really get to the wax since I had put it in a lipbalm-type tube. I remade it into a repurposed circular tin this time.

So far it smells of maple and eucalyptus. I put in some brown mica in hopes it doesn’t turn white in mustache hair (like most “clear” mustache waxes do in dark hair!). If my friend ends up liking it, I’m thinking of making more to sell in an Etsy shop. What scents/themes/colors do you suggest for me to try next?

Step 1: melting down the waxes and butters with the mica. (Finished product is not sparkly at all, but it’s pretty to look at during this stage!)

Sleepy Cat

The past few days have been cold and rainy, which means I allow my cats to spend more time in my bedroom (where there is better heating).

My giganto-Munchkin cat, Winston, sleeps in the most hilarious ways. Last night I caught him SNORING.
